Some of the dive sites will include:

The wreck of the Rhone – perhaps the best wreck dive in the Caribbean. We may be able to do a night dive there also! https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=10154038113751310

Grand Central Station (Guana Island) – 80 ft Advanced
Off the northern coast of Guana Island, this site is an underwater cavern system. The cavern is very large, with one entrance at 60 ft and another close to the surface. Inside, look out for the occasional turtle or Goliath Grouper.

Alice In Wonderland – 40-70 ft Novice / Intermediate
Situated off the south shore of Ginger Island, this site provides a very different underwater landscape to other BVI areas. A healthy spur and groove coral reef runs below the dive boat (moored in about 60 ft) and slopes up towards the island to a minimum depth of about 35 ft.

The Wreck of the Chikuzen – 75ft Depth, Advanced

Due to its remote location, 12 miles NW of Virgin Gorda, this site should only be attempted with experienced instructors and good weather conditions. One of its challenges are the regular swells, in the 3-5ft range. Also, due to the unstable piping inside, divers should not attempt to enter the vessel.

The Chikuzen, a 246 ft refrigeration vessel belonging to the fishing fleet in St Maarten, had been impaired 2 years prior to being moored at the fishing fleet dock, where it was causing damage. As the owners wanted to stop further destruction, she was intentionally set ablaze off the docks, but she didn’t sink and eventually reached the BVI, threatening to beach on Marina Cay. She was taken under tow and eventually sank without issue.

Surrounded now by miles of sand, this is the only place for marine life to congregate. Regular visitors include schooling barracuda, horse-eye jacks and snapper, stingrays, eagle rays, African pompano, Atlantic spadefish, nurse sharks and reef sharks along with a resident 600lb Goliath Grouper.

We have found over the years that the best way to dive from a boat and get the best experience is to do  “Rendezvous Diving.” The mornings that we dive, the dive boat will come to our boat and pick up the divers. The experienced local instructors and divemasters know all the best sites for each day. The boat will have all the dive equipment on board including BCDs and regulators (of course you can bring your own) After the two tank dive, they will drop the divers back at the boat. If there are non-divers on board, they can be enjoying a beach, snorkeling or exploring while the dive is on.

After lunch each day, we will sail to a new location and be moored in plenty of time for snorkeling, beaching, beach bars and more. Some nights we will dine on board and some at a few of the unique beachside restaurants!

If you have not been to the BVI before on a charter boat, please look at this link here for an overview of the islands – BVI Cruise

The Moorings 48 that we will be sailing and living on has 4 private double staterooms, each with a full head/shower. There is a large main saloon and galley on the main deck. Outside there are spacious areas to relax in, both covered and uncovered, including a large bow trampoline,

Cost:

Per person, double occupancy $1,875 all inclusive except food/beverage (approx $200/person) and diving. We recommend the 5 day (2 tank dive) package for $550. Per 2 tank dive it is $140. Bring your own BCD and regulator or rent them per day $25. The night dives are $115 each.

To book this, we need 50%($940) of the boat cost as deposit – if you can’t come due to Covid travel restrictions then the deposit is refundable. Balance is do by Oct 7.

The diving can be paid at the beginning of the cruise.
